We have just returned to our temporary home during furlough and I am once again struck by how refreshing it is to spend time with God’s family. As a missionary in a country with so few Christians, opportunities for fellowship are limited both in time and in the number of people to fellowship with. The process of reporting to churches is tiring, involving hours of driving to and from distant towns across multiple states, but the time together is invaluable to our spiritual life. I don’t know, maybe it is easy to take it for granted when you live in a country with multiple churches in even a small town. But for me, the time in conversation with God’s family is like breathing fresh air. It is not only enjoyable, it is life itself.
